Starting her teaching career in Baltimore, Maryland and then moving to Honeoye Falls – Lima High School, she has been in the classroom for 20 years. Kimberly Agar earned her BS in Biology in Secondary Education from SUNY Plattsburgh, and her MS in Special Education from Nazareth College. Abbott is looking forward to making connections with other people and to STEM content through the Master Teacher Program knowing it will support both personal growth and student learning. She is also an active presenting member of Science Teachers' Association of New York State (STANYS). Abbott has coached women's tennis and women's high school lacrosse. ![]() She believes students who are engaged with STEM in school make informed and productive members of society and she feels gratified to engage those learners. She is the advisor of Sci Girls, a club for middle school girls that explores STEM-related topics. She currently teaches Regents Chemistry, Chem Science, and Advanced Placement Environmental Science in Geneva City School District. Abbott worked for the New York City Board of Education from 2005 - 2008 and has taught in inner city schools, a rural school, a private all girls preparatory high school, and in urban China. ![]() Kirsten Abbott earned her BS in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from Wells College, and MS in Multidisciplinary Studies from Buffalo State College. His goal is to bridge the gap from evidence-based research to coaches and trainers providing practical applications for optimizing the health and performance in athletes and non-athletes alike.Īfter a brief career in professional baseball with the San Francisco Giants organization, Dr.Kirsten Abbott Master Teacher Emeritus Geneva City School District His main research focus lies in pre-participation movement screens and their relationship to injury prediction in athletes. He currently teaches courses in exercise science, while serving as the faculty advisor for pre-occupational therapy students, and serving on the university’s institutional review board (IRB). His research focuses on investigating all aspects of human movement relative to injury prevention and performance optimization. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and a registered Strength and Conditioning Coach through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Professor Busch returned to his alma mater in 2010 after earning his master’s in exercise science with a focus on athletic performance and injury prevention. ![]()
